Category: None Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Submitted By: phillipc (kawauso) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Broadcaster Initial Comment: By going to Tools-Plugin Actions-[Broadcaster]-Broadcast Message, you can send a message to all of your open conversation windows, on all accounts. Useful for saying good night or that you're running out for a bit, but you have to sign off so you can't set an away message. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Stephan Zehrer (stevez_de) Date: 2005-06-21 14:14 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=835265 it seems not to work with 1.3. (There is no GUI or something like that) Only a command /broadcast <text> (as far as i understood) Maybe somebody update it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Ant (itchysoft_ant) Date: 2005-05-16 11:53 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1186610 Is this plugin currently working for WinGaim 1.3.0? In the plugins folder, but no entry in the plugin list to enable it, and I dont see any entries in plugin actions. Turns out there's a new data argument for commands callback. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: phillipc (kawauso) Date: 2004-11-04 23:12 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1029839 I meant 1.0.2... that's the problem with working in the field of quantum mechanics... you get ahead of yourself. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: phillipc (kawauso) Date: 2004-11-04 22:53 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1029839 Broken by API change in 1.0.4. Fix this weekend if I don't have homework. Wait for it... wait... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Spam3234 (spam3234) Date: 2004-07-30 23:34 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1027350 maybe that can be something they'll establish in v0.81 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: phillipc (kawauso) Date: 2004-07-30 22:42 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1029839 Well, account, no. Gaim doesn't do much differentiation of what account "owns" a conversation. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: phillipc (kawauso) Date: 2004-07-30 22:41 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1029839 It already does that, use it from the Plugin Actions list. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Spam3234 (spam3234) Date: 2004-07-30 21:30 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1027350 could you customize it, so you can either select the account, or select whether it is in IM's or Chat's? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: phillipc (kawauso) Date: 2004-07-30 18:45 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1029839 I'll take a look at the code and see what I can do. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Peter Loveman (ploveman) Date: 2004-07-30 15:53 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=679986 It would be great if you could add the ability to broadcast to a buddy group. I have seen this in some other IM clients and I think this would be a great addition to gaim. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Spam3234 (spam3234) Date: 2004-07-01 17:02 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1027350 oh, it's a new feature in 79, i didn't notice it thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: phillipc (kawauso) Date: 2004-07-01 15:32 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1029839 Tools-Preferences-Conversations-First option (Enable slash commands.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Spam3234 (spam3234) Date: 2004-07-01 08:23 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1027350 how do you enable slash commands? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: phillipc (kawauso) Date: 2004-07-01 02:31 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1029839 Source for v0.2 uploaded. You can now, if you have slash commands enabled, type /broadcast Your message here. to broadcast a messge to all open IM and Chat conversations. Works fine with Linux Gaim 0.79. A Windows DLL plugin will be posted as soon as possible. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: phillipc (kawauso) Date: 2004-06-30 04:01 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1029839 Just a note that I didn't notice beforehand... if you have more than a handful of conversations open, you may exceed your AIM rate limit. Use at your own risk. Also, this plugin has only been tested with the AIM and IRC protocols. Obtain a backtrace (http://gaim.sourceforge.net/gdb.php) before emailing me for support. Avoid posting backtraces in the comments, please. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Mini_Rabbi (minirabbi) Date: 2004-06-30 03:41 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1053895 the broadcast i think worked, but gaim crashes 5 seconds later. i am using 0.79. any suggestions? what other information do you need? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: phillipc (kawauso) Date: 2004-06-29 19:29 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1029839 Special thanks to Nosnilmot for WinGaim DLL compilation of v0.11. Should work fine with Gaim 0.79. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Spam3234 (spam3234) Date: 2004-06-29 05:37 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1027350 is it possible to compile this into a .dll file? I have Visual Basics .Net on my PC i would definately take this if I could compile it to a .dll file ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: phillipc (kawauso) Date: 2004-06-27 23:12 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1029839 As stated in a previous comment, this plugin works fine with 0.79. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2004-06-27 20:37 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 A new version of gaim has been released. It is likely that your plugin will crash in the new gaim. As per our standard policy, we are only including plugins that we write, being unable to maintain hundreds of plugins as we develop gaim, if you want to continue making your plugin available, please update your plugin and reopen it. If not updated, this will close in 14 days. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: phillipc (kawauso) Date: 2004-06-25 09:47 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1029839 v0.11 works fine with 0.79. ooh, i rhymed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: phillipc (kawauso) Date: 2004-06-19 20:49 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1029839 v0.11 adds two option buttons so you can select to send to chats or IMs, or both. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=390395&aid=975779&group_id=235 |
