Anyone can forge messages after a conversation to make them look like they came from you. However, _during_ a conversation, your correspondent is assured the messages he sees are authentic and unmodified. * Perfect forward secrecy: If you lose control of your private keys, no previous conversation is compromised. People are using OTR for private communications on Linux, FreeBSD, OSX, Windows, Solaris, and probably others. Code, binaries, protocol documentation, academic papers, etc. are available on the web site: http://www.cypherpunks.ca/otr/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=390395&aid=1159818&group_id=235 |
