I've NOT used Windows since long, I however can guess that
the right place to install user plugins for WinGaim should
be something like: 

/Documents and Settings/<YOUR_HOME_DIR>/Application
Data/.gaim/plugins/

Windows users may change the following line, if that matters:

my $myScript = "$ENV{HOME}/.gaim/plugins/chatbot.txt";

in their chatbot.pl

I'm afraid; WinGaim users, please let me know am I right?

For debugging click Buddy List>Help>Debug Window in Gaim or
run Gaim from Command Prompt as follows:

gaim -d

Downloaded the plugin for my Win2k system.  Installed Eliza
bot and then added the Chatbot.pl to the plugin's folder in
Program files.  

However once I have loaded the plugin into gaim and send a
message to myself gaim just crashes out.

Can you give some advice on where to start with debuging?

Plz untar the tarball into your $HOME/.gaim, its files
should appear in $HOME/.gaim/plugins; the plugin will appear
as Chatbot in Preferences->Plugins menu of you Gaim.

I can't get this plugin to work in Gaim version 1.0.3 on FC2.
I installed chatbot::liza and copied the files of this
project to the gaim plugins directory. I don't see any Eliza
plugin appearing in the plugins preferences.
Did I miss something?
