Okay so I installed Gaim onto windows all works great but with ICQ and IRC, I haven't tried AOL yet, I can't change the font size or color but I can change the font color and size with MSN, Jabber (Google Talk) Yahoo. Can someone help me on what is wrong?

    Thank You

IRC doesn't support message formatting and as such gaim doesn't let you set up any. While ICQ supports formatting, gaim currently doesn't supporting sending formatting over ICQ and that's why you can't do it there either.

        Hi,

I know this message is old but back in 2005 I was able to write with colors in IRC. Then IRC does support message formatting. Just type Ctrl+k in an IRC Client and you'll see the color box. Just type Ctrl+b before your text input and you'll see it bold, etc
I used addons for color usage.

I think this feature is missing in Pidgin or I have not found it anywhere..

        a+, =)

        Configuration : Pidgin v2.5.4

I'm using gaim on Slackware Linux (with a dark gray windows background), and I miss an option to force the background colour for buddy list and message window (as well as force text colours)
If I could I'd choose yellow text on black backgound in every possible window, but as most windows users have the default white backgrounds, when sending yellow text will be hard to see on default win32 clients...
Could there be an inteligent dynamic color translation matching best local background, for instance: some one sends dark red text from a white background and we are forcing black background on local side, it would translate the dark red to light red...
