This page claims a change to Yahoo's authentication mechanism, that servers are being upgraded over time, and that Pidgin 2.6 should work with the new mechanism.

Or update to pidgin 2.5.7, your call.
Me 3.
I can ping the default configured server of scs.msg.yahoo.com, but cannot connect for the last 2 or 3 hours that it has been trying.
I had the same problem.
Do a ping on scs.msg.yahoo.com and put that resulting ip in instead.
I am using 66.163.181.173 and it works.
hope this helps.

Ticketing database is timing out. What IP did you get to work?
Thanks in advance.
aaah... cs101.msg.mud.yahoo.com in that celticwolf URL worked for me.
Same for me. One of my online friends says it's due to bad blood between Yahoo and GNU.

With the yahoo server address set back to scs.msg.yahoo.com. The problem of clicking on the yahoo mail message seems to be resolved.
