Using 2.54.  None of the fixes are working for me anymore.  I really don't want to download Yahoo Messenger, but it may be the only option at this point.

      Me 3.

I can ping the default configured server of scs.msg.yahoo.com, but cannot connect for the last 2 or 3 hours that it has been trying.

      I had the same problem.
Do a ping on scs.msg.yahoo.com and put that resulting ip in instead.
I am using 66.163.181.173  and it works.

      hope this helps.

Started happening yesterday for me. I switched from port 5050 to 80 and it worked. This morning 80 isn't working either. 2.5.6 on Linux (compiled from source).

Changing the IP address, as above and in the ticket http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/9414#comment:3 , works for me.

This page claims a change to Yahoo's authentication mechanism, that servers are being upgraded over time, and that Pidgin 2.6 should work with the new mechanism.

Ticketing database is timing out. What IP did you get to work?

      Thanks in advance.

Same for me. One of my online friends says it's due to bad blood between Yahoo and GNU.

With the yahoo server address set back to scs.msg.yahoo.com. The problem of clicking on the yahoo mail message seems to be resolved.
