I was having this problem yesterday, but with ICQ instead of Yahoo! It cleared itself up after a few hours. Rebooting your PC might fix it as this is a windows error, but I'm not sure.

It's most likely a firewall problem, if you are using Norton or Symantec or the Windows firewall, read the wingaim FAQ about what ports you need to open and hope that works. Much of the firewall software likes to ignore settings people tell it to have.

I am able to log into YIM when i use the YIM client. But not gaim.
I was having this problem yesterday, but with ICQ instead of Yahoo! It cleared itself up after a few hours. Rebooting your PC might fix it as this is a windows error, but I'm not sure.
I still cannot use gaim to connect to the Yahoo instant messenger from home. I still get the same error as described above.
I have no problems using it from my work pc though

WOW, Thank you very much adding the pager ports for gaim into my firwall did the trick.
