    Hi!

I'm just trying out 2.0.0b3, have been using 1.5.0 for quite long time.

    What I miss:

    - switch for nicknames: in 1.5.0 there's a toggle to display email addresses in my buddy list instead of nicknames but I can't find this in 2.0.0. It's just useful coz most of people use msn plus with fancy formatting crap which is unreadable with gaim

    - switch for smilies: another fancy feature of msn, but makes posts almost unreadable and ununderstandable. there are the stanard smilies which gaim users are also able to send, but there are also shiny big smilies which are just annoying. you know what I'm talking about

    - display member's action in conversation window: in 1.5.0 I could see whenever a buddy logged in or out. Now I don't see these, and can't find a switch for this either.

If there are options which could solve my problems please let me know, and your ideas/opinions too, of course!

i'm looking for that option to show email address too
in gaim 1.5 was "display remote nicknames if no alias is set"
can't find not like that in gaim 2.0
      there is a plugin?

bervi - You could always turn the smiley themes off, or install a more sedate smiley theme and use that one instead.  :)

edit: Oops, forgot to answer the rest of the questions (more or less).

"- display member's action in conversation window: in 1.5.0 I could see whenever a buddy logged in or out. Now I don't see these, and can't find a switch for this either."

Go to Plugins > Buddy State Notification.  There, you can set the notifications for the events: Buddy Goes Away, Buddy Goes Idle and Buddy Signs On/Off.  You can also set sounds for others logging in and out (for the event, not individually) to be absolutely sure.  :)

I'm not sure about the buddy list options, because I'm not logged in right now, and there's a few things I want to check without having my contacts message me.  :D
