Hello. I've just installed Ubuntu 6.10 instead of ASPLinux, wich stayed on other HDD. But now I want to move all my contacts, history etc to the new distribution! How do I do that?
Simple file copy hasn't work...

Copying the ~/.gaim from the old home directory to the new home directory is all that is needed to keep your gaim settings. If you did that and it didn't work than something else is wrong, or you copied the directory with root so the ownership/permissions are broken. First check the ownership/permissions, if they all look right then run gaim -d and see what it yells about.

I would expect that copying your ~/.gaim directory from one home folder to another would work.
nope :( It was first I tried.
Copying the ~/.gaim from the old home directory to the new home directory is all that is needed to keep your gaim settings.
