I understand Yahoo has disabled user-created chat rooms. Does this does this main Yahoo chat rooms are effectivly non-functional in Gaim, or should I still be able to join default rooms? Because when I get a list, I see all the big catagories like "Business & Finance" or "Regional", but if I expend one of those all I see is an item labeled "User Rooms" with no futher options.
I'm on v1.5.0 for Windows, if it matters.

yahoo chatrooms are all but broken, I am using gaim 2 beta 6 in linux and I have a hard time joining, some days it is worse then others. And when I do manage to get in (and stay in) the bots (who have no problems getting in) spoil it for every one else. But I can see the lists and sometimes I can even join the rooms. BTW, The linux version of yahoo messenger does not even allow chatrooms)
My guess is that yahoo is trying to stop the bots from spamming the rooms, seems they are trying to do it trough software, instead of putting some humans in the rooms. Then again I am not blaming yahoo for all this mess, they are not getting any money out of these chatrooms, except some possible goodwill (if they did it right)

Okay thanks. This doesn't come as a big surpirse. I had previously tried using the Yahoo chat rooms with the official Yhaoo program and it only barely worked even then.
