I'm sure you guys know what feature I'm referring to. Whenever I click on the buddy list and then start typing a screenname or contact out, it normally automatically searches for the contact. However, now, it just refuses to work on me. As in, I'll get to type in one letter, and then after it matches with the first screenname or contact with that letter, it stops registering any future keypresses. Is the feature broken or is this a preferences thing? It's become very inconvenient, and although ctrl+m can launch a new message instantly, I can't check if a buddy is on without scrolling the list.
If it matters, before I installed Pidgin 2.4, I deleted my local .purple directory, to see if that would fix it. No dice.

Debug windows shows the following, but it's unclear if this is related to the keyboard input ceasing or me hitting ESC to attempt to close the 'find' box...

That is a known bug with the version of GTK+ that we shipped with pidgin 2.4.0, a temporary solution is to reinstall the version of GTK+ that we shipped with pidgin 2.3.1 (which can be gotten from the pidgin sourceforge download area).
