I'm behind the company firewall using a http proxy. Trying to connect to ICQ via Pidgin I'm not possible to login with the error HTTP proxy connection error 502. From the original ICQ application I've found that if I tick the "Use proxy server for host names decoding" option it will connect correctly (it doesn't matter which login server - aol or icq; or which port do I use in Pidgin: in ICQ I use login.oscar.aol.com:5190 as it was pre-setup).

Is there any possibility to use this option in Pidgin as well?

Please can you let me know if there is any solution planned in near future as I would like to keep using Pidgin. I've been using Gaim for almost 2 years and I was really satisfied with it.

    Thanks in advance

    Lubo

Have you tried setting pidgin up to use the proxy? Did that not work? If it didn't what error did you get when you tried? If you didn't try, do so.

Yes I have tried to setup the proxy. Actually I'm getting the same error as without - if I remember it was error 502.
