gaim no longer highlights mispelled words... I'm not sure when spell checking stopped working. I have upgraded to .47 and I'm running Aspell .33.7.1 alpha (which I think is what gaim relies on)... Anyone know where my problem lies?

Yes.
ln -s /usr/bin/aspell /usr/bin/ispell
I needed to do that on my RH7.1 system to get it to work, I suspect it'll work for you too.
I'm having the same problem. I'm using 2.6.3 and the latest aspell (0.50.3)
