I checked the FAQ, but can't see a clear explanation. Bonjour is listed as a supported protocol, but I don't see it in the Add Connection dialog. I can see that previous (Gaim) versions listed it as a separate download, but only for *nix systems.
Is there a plan to make it available for Windows also, or am I missing something?
Thanks!

Bonjour support requires a compatible mdns responder/system on the computer (we use howl at the moment I believe), and I don't believe we know of any such systems available for Windows. Without one we can't build bonjour.

Ok, that makes sense. I see that howl is no longer actively developed (http://www.porchdogsoft.com/products/howl/), but there is a link to Apple's Bonjour protocol, which is available for Windows (http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/bonjourforwindows.html). It looked as if that were a protocol library, not a specific application.
Anyhow, if it could be done at some point, that would be great!

There has been some talk of moving to using avahi instead of howl, but I don't believe we can actually use the Apple bonjour stuff due to license issues (though I haven't looked at it myself).

I thought that I'd read that Bonjour used one of the Apache licenses, but I haven't confirmed that, nor looked at the specifics of that license. I'll leave it in the hands of the fine developers here to come up with the best solution. :-)
