Hi,
I have moved from trillian to pidgin and I'm very happy now.
The only problem I got right now is that I need to press ^ twice a time before pidgin is showing it >_<
Regrettably ^ is the most used character in my conversations ^-^
So does anybody know if there is a workaround for my problem?
It would be very nice to fix this ^-^
Thank you all ^-^

I use ^_^ all the time in Pidgin, and haven't had any problems typing a ^. Are you sure you haven't installed any plugins or smiley themes that might be watching for a ^? (I don't think the Text Replacement plugin should be doing it, but you can always try turning that off, too.)

I'm using pidgin with icq-protocol (which I even used in my trillian-times).
The only plugins I got installed are the fallowing default plugins which came with pidgin:
- Buddy notes
- History
- Message Timestamp formats
- release notification
It's not impossible for me to type ^ but I need to press the ^ twice a time before it appears on screen. This is slowing down my typingspeed >_<

This is how GTK+ handles the US-International windows keyboard layout (and probably other layouts with deadkeys, I forget exactly). You can try switching Windows keyboard layouts or switching the GTK+ input method (via the right-click menu of the conversation input area). Or you could stop using anime smileys.

With which protocol does this happen?
