This isn't scrictly GAIM related, but I figure this si a good place to start...
I'm a sysadmin by trade, and I'm the person who gets woken up at 4AM when the users can't load their favorite webpage. I'm usually notified by our helpdesk when something dies, but there are times when I want to know sooner than that.
Here's where GAIM comes in: I would like to write a small program that will send me (or several people) an IM when something breaks. It doesn't have to respond to IMs at all, jsut send them.
So, is the messaging code in GAIM flexible/robust enough to pull out of GAIM and use in something else? Any pointers anyone would care to give would be appreciated. :)
Thanks!
