Not sure if this is just a missing feature or something that a plugin could fix, but one of the first things I noticed is that Pidgin does not remember the location of the chat windows after you close them. This is really annoying on a multi monitor system as it will always open the window on the top left of the left most monitor.
Seems like a basic intuitive feature built into MSN, GTalk and even Trillian.

I came across that plug in after posting here and have started using it. However it doesn't really do what I want. It forces windows to always open at a specific position, I would rather the windows remember where they where.
It is inconsistent in windows apps as well, but as I said it is common to windows IM clients at least.

It has the ability to remember the last location or force windows (specified by role) to always open at a specific location. If the former isn't working for you, please post what you're doing on the plugin page or e-mail me what you're seeing.

I use it with multi-monitor desktops every day, yes.
The "Initial Window Position Left/Top" are where windows should appear that haven't been opened before.
"Restore Window Sizes" tells extpos to restore the width/height of windows as well as the position.
"Show Conversation Formatting Toolbar" has nothing to do with anything else and shouldn't really be there, but someone asked for it a while ago and it was trivial, so there it is.
"Window Type Position Overrides" will force specific types of windows to appear at specific locations if the "Set Position" checkbox is checked.
Otherwise windows should just re-open where they were last closed based on the window title.

pidgin doesn't support it because it isn't a model that X applications tend to follow, it tends to be the window managers job to do that, Windows doesn't believe that policy though, hence the problem.
Shouldn't this be an excellent task for the "Windows Pidgin Options" to implement?

Is the default to remember the position when the plugin is active?
Does it work with multi monitor desktops?
ExtPos 2.0.0
Initial Window Position Left
Initial Window Position Top
Restore Window Sizes
Show Conversation formatting Toolbar
Followed by a table of Fixed settings for each window.
I see no option to JUST REMEMBER where the window was.
