I've been trying to get Gaim for HP-UX for a few days now and it is stumping me. I am mainly a windows dude so all this compiling crap is starting to bug me. I saw this in the FAQ:
"The build scripts that are shipped with the "official" releases are unfortunately incompatible with the HPUX linker; fetching the svn version and running autogen.sh however gives you a healthy build dir. Configure gaim WITHOUT the X screensaver extension and disable the gtk- and glibtests; no source hacks are needed."
So, i thought "i'll get the SVN release". Oh look, my SVN was compliled without SSL, so I need a new SVN. Oh, to compile that I need OpenSSL, oh, then I need expat or libxml etc etc.
Long story short, I can't get SVN to work with SSL. Aparently since i need the subversion of gaim to run autogen.sh for HP-UX i need someone else's help. Does anyone have the latest SVN tar/gzipped up so I can just download it simply? I tried wget on the SVN site but (of course) all i got was robots.txt.
Anyone help? please :)
Thanks

I'll just go with something that works... I'll get a nice .exe of a windows SVN then I'll get Gaim. No doubt I'll have to compile it for HP-UX. Why can't Gaim come as a .depot file for hp-ux? oh wait, that would be too easy.

For the record, if your only problem is that the shipped configure file is broken for HP-UX (which I find odd as I thought it was supposed to work everywhere), you don't need svn to build gaim, I believe you can just regenerate the configure script in a release tarball by running autoconf or autoreconf (or something like that).

Gaim doesn't use OpenSSL, its license is incompatable with ours. Gaim can use nss/nspr from the mozilla project or gnutls.
Thanks... I'll install that before compiling Gaim.
Now what about simply getting the subversion of gaim so I can compile

I got it figured out. Sorry for bugging the forum for a trivial matter :)
Thanks
