Is there a way to suppress any join and leave messages using GAIM?
At work we are experimenting with GAIM to monitor and message across 200-300 simultaneous chat rooms
(per operator) across multiple IRC and Jabber servers. It would help us a great deal if we could get rid of join and leave messages as this hogs up a lot of our message space.
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
Would unchecking "Buddy Goes Away", "Buddy Goes Idle", and "Buddy Signs On/Off" in the Buddy State Notification plugin have any bearing on group chat/chat rooms? All my contacts are away for Christmas, so I can't experiment. :D

Check out the gaim extended preferences plugin - http://gaim-extprefs.sourceforge.net/ep.shtml
It allows you to suppress join/part messages.
