I see that although there are 36 comments in that ticket and numerous messages about this problem in this mailing list, priority of that bug is still minor and its not scheduled to be fixed in any release.
I can not stay without IM at my workplace and Pidgin does not connects to MSN anymore. I move to www.meebo.com I feel that if this bug will be not fixed ASAP, Pidgin will lost a lot (if not all) users.
