Hello,
I have put this in as a feature request but would like to open some dialog about a feature like this. Many clients like AOL, MSN and Google Talk all drop to https connections when their standard port has been blocked by a firewall or some such. It would be of great benefit, I believe, if Gaim did this as well. It would surely get used in universities and other places more frequently and there would be a higher adoption rate of this excellent program. Is there any particular reason why this feature has not been integrated into gaim? Is it possible?
Thanks!

Wouldn't a better (or additional) fallback port be 80? At work I can't get Google Talk to work with the standard port or the https port (443), but it does work when I set the port to 80.
