Edit: Attached is a log file created using the instructions found here (the Help -> Debug Window shows the same info?) . But I did not find anything in it that seemed related to my problem.
Edit:[PARTIALLY SOLVED] I discovered that the reason the name/description/author weren't showing correctly because I was using a raw ampersand (&) character in the Author field. But the issue of smileys not working in chat continues.
Edit: Just came across this ticket, which points out that there seems to be a problem in v2.13 with smiley/emoji themes displaying on Windows.
Edit: I can confirm that downgrading to version 2.12.0 fixed the problem for me.
Original message:
I'm having a small issue with a smiley theme that I created. In the theme chooser, its information does not show up correctly. It shows up as:
Small - Hylke Bons
Smaller versions of the default smileys
Which is the information of one of the other pre-intalled themes. Also, while the smileys do display correctly under the "Smile!" button, they do not work in chat. I think the problem may have to do with an imcompatible character/image, but I am unsure how to diagnose it.
My system: OS: Windows 10 64-bit Pidgin: Pidgin 2.13.0 (libpurple 2.13.0)
My smiley theme is installed in %AppData%/.purple/smileys/emojitwo. It is based on the Emojitwo project. The images & theme file are generated using a set of scripts. The theme text file is encoded in UTF-8 with Unix line endings (LF). The following is the full contents of the theme file (1221 images I believe, so it's a bit long). Removing the listed images from the file fixes the display info. But I don't which line, or image, is causing the problem. Is there a log I can check for emoji theme errors?
