I kinda figured this out on my own, but wouldn't it have helped if there were at least some official reference to Jabber now being referred to as XMPP in the client? especially since, in most all other documentation (and everywhere else, at least informally), the protocol is still called "Jabber"...

Jabber is not listed on my protocol list, I'm sure I chose it during installation. Anyone know what I can do about that?

It should be listed as XMPP. All of my jabber accounts came up fine.

Yes, Jabber was renamed to the more correct XMPP, what you chose in the installer was likely a uri handler.
