Wierd problem...  I fired up GAIM this morning, and after signing on, I was presented with a window that is the size of the buttons and title tacked on by the window manager (CDE in this case).  Essentially, I have a frame a few pixels wide, a minimize and maximize button, a 'window functions' button (close, minimize, etc), and between them the letters "Ga" (from "Gaim").

I can drag the window out to any size, but it immediatly snaps back into it's shrunken state.  Before it does so, however, I can breifly see the gaim window redraw for one or two cycles, so I know it's there...somewhere....

Everything else appears to work fine.  I can receive messages quite well, although I can click on anything tio initiate a converstaion...  The debug window shows nothing unusual either...

    Any ideas?

Possibly your indow manager has a 'remember window size(s)' option that you need to disable.

There aren't any that I'm aware of.  It worked yesterday just fine (using the CVS snapshot from a few days beofre that...).  I update to today's CVS snapshot, but that didn't help at all (which I expected).

I'll muck around in the various X config files...

I nuked the 'blist_pos {}' line in my gaimrc file, and that fixed the problem...  <shrug>

Actually, for people who don't want to hunting around in the config file, would having some way of resetting the geometry be feasible?  Perhaps a setting in one of the option tabs to  enforce a 'sane' setting?

Just an idea, and I don't know how much use it would be.  An entry in a FAQ perhaps?
