What do you want to do with the gaim source? If all you want to do is build it get the latest release tarball. If you want to write some patches, I would still suggest that you work off the latest release tarball (not that many things have changed since and if we need to manually apply the patch we generally will, or if necessary we will *then* tell you to get the patch against svn). Without an error, and what you tried we really can't help much with your problem, but like I said, unless you have a good reason for needing svn at this point I wouldn't bother with it.

I think that CVS does not work anymore in some projects in SF.net; there is a new versioning system called SVN (Subversion: http://subversion.tigris.org/\). This is the SVN page for gaim: http://sourceforge.net/svn/?group_id=235

In *nix, SVN is really simple: $ svn co https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/gaim gaim

In windows, I don't know how to use it.

gah.  PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS!!!  if you *must* use svn (and please do not if you are not writing a patch, maintaining  plugin, or translating gaim), then please checkout just trunk, not the entire repository!!  you do not need every historical version!!

Sorry, sorry... I know about use SVN, and his directory structure. BTW, sorry again if my comment is a bit confuse.

          PD. In http://sourceforge.net/svn/?group_id=235
Warning: This is a generic Subversion checkout command which will pull all modules, tags and/or branches of the project. Please refer to project home page for specific SVN instructions, or use "Browse Repository" link; in most cases, you will want to add '/trunk' to the HTTPS URL above to check out only trunk (main development line)
