I have the "Notify buddies that you are typing to them" ticked and still people can't see when I am typing to them. I closed out Pidgin and opened up AIM and they were able to see me typing then. As a side note, the other person is using Pidgin as well and is able to see others typing...it just seems to be me. Any suggestions on how I can fix this? She was able to see me responding before but then it just stopped working one day.

The only thing I can think to suggest offhand is to try toggling the setting in preferences, it shouldn't be possible for it to be incorrect but it can't hurt. The other thing to test would be to try running wireshark and watching the network traffic to see if pidgin is in fact sending the typing notifications (which I think/hope wireshark is smart enough to tag as such for you).
