I've installed Pidgin (2.6.4) and Encryption (3.0?) on Windows 7 32 bit. I tried copying my .purple folder from my old XP install. That brought my contacts/status etc over. However, the keys didn't work. So I decided just to create a new .purple folder and then the keys would work. I copied over the files:
accels
accounts.xml
blist.xml
gtkrc-2.0
id
id.priv
prefs.xml
status.xml
xmpp-caps.xml
I've checked that there are no buddy keys in the PE configure tabs. All options are checked on the config page. When I try to IM someone with the plugin, i get:
"*** Encrypted with the Gaim-Encryption plugin "
I can't figure this out. Even if I delete the .purple folder, and let Pidgin re-create it, it's still not working. I've even had the other party delete my key and it's still not working. Help?
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
I had the same issue with Windows 7 64 bit and Pidgin 2.6.4. I downgraded to Pidgin 2.6.3 and everything worked as expected. Not sure if Win 7 or Pidgin update issue.
