As this plugin is pidgin-centric, it's impossible to secure communication with other clients such as msn client even if pidgin is able to talk unencrypted.
MSN client is able to use simp (http://www.secway.fr/us/products/all.php) as a plugin.
This is a proprietary plugin but seems to use open encryption standard.
Unfortunately it is not compatible with pidgin-encryption at this time.
SIMP is now available for Pidgin.
Is there any plan to :
- make pidgin-encryption compatible with the protocol used by SIMP
- make pidgin-encryption works with other im clients (unlikely)
