#33 Placement of encrypt and decrypt buttons cover send button.

Anthony F

Placement of encrypt and decrypt buttons cover send
button. You have to make the window super wide, at
1280x1042 even. Id suguest that the encrypt/decrypt
buttons either replace two of the ("warn", "block",
"remove", "info") buttons. I wouldnt know which two
to replace, but for my ussage would replace remove and
warn, this way if you recive offence messages you can
still block real quick, and still get info for new
incomming messeges. Or even provide a option for the
user to select which two get replaced.

Or perhaps add the option in a menu insted.

Add two buttons to the right in the tab area.

Anyway, thanks for the plugin.

Not sure if i should give a screenshot, its pretty
simple, make the window thinner till you get the
buttons to cover the send button. If you need a
screenshot just ask.

Thanks for reading my ramblings..

I have set my preferences to open the IM window to 500 px wide.

Replacing those other buttons isn't a good idea since those
are put there upstream and removing functionality generally
isn't a good idea. You could always ask that they be
removed by the gaim folks, but they are a feisty lot.

Well, I'm not about to ask them to remove them altogether,
but if i were to just remove the buttons from /my/ ui before
compiling, i couldnt see it breaking anything, by simply
removing the buttons from my ui. Would it be too much to
ask which file i should look at, i can figure out and edit
code without much problem, but finding the right file has
    always been the trouble =\

It would be difficult for the plugin to delete buttons used
by the core part of Gaim without creating problems. If you
want an option to remove the Warn button, for example, that
should probably go through the Gaim team.

It would be possible to make it a pull-down menu rather than
a button, but that seems like a pain to use. Adding buttons
in an area that Gaim is not using for buttons (ie the tab
area) seems like a recipe for breakage, as well.

Easy options that I can think of:
    1) Use button pictures instead of pictures and text. Much
    2) Turn off display of buddy icons in your chat windows, as
they take up space in the button bar as well.
