Pidgin-encryption doesn't encrypt outgoing messages sent from Yahoo Messenger conferences, even if the padlock button is locked and green.

Yes, encryption does not work in conferences (it is there on the feature requests list), only in two-party IMs. The bug is actually that the padlock icons are shown.
