Hello. Thank you for keeping the PicKit2 hardware alive!
I have downloaded PK2 Plus/Firmware v1.0.0.7/Product v1.0.0.8 on my HP 17z Laptop, which is running on Windows 10/v1809, with Net Frameworks 4.0.
The installer for PK2 Plus is looking for Net Framworks 3.5. As said, 4.0 is installed. I have told the installer to skip NFW 3.5, but it does not recognize that 4.0 is already installed. I can use the install option to add NFW 3.5, but I would rather not. How can I get the installer to recognize NFW 4.0?
I look forward to a successful download and making a contribution!
Tom

Background: I started the install. It showed that I needed NFW 3.5, IIRC. I accepted and the DL began. Then, I thought better of downloading NFW 3.5, over 4.0, and I cancelled the install.
Now, I think that I have learned that it is okay for different programs to be using different NFW. So I tried to install PICKitPlus, again. It acts as if it is not doing an install. It just immediately opens the PICKit2 Device Data File Editor. See jpeg.
I have deleted the installer file, checked the MS Unistaller, nothing there to remove, downloaded the program from Source Forge, again, and tried to install it fresh. Rinsed and repeated some several times, all resulting in the same symptoms of paragraph 2, above. Nothing shows installed in the Programs List, or Unistaller.
So, I must have corrupted the installer function. How do I clear the corruption?
I only have low-mid level computer skills, so please give lots of details. Sorry to be a bother. Thanks for the help.
I am just faking it, here, big-time. But, I thought that you might like to see what is in the RegEdit for NFW 3.5. Seems to be the main folder and a sub-folder/1033. See jpeg.
I know nothing about this level of stuff... I just know that it is there. I thought maybe deleting the entire 3.5 folder might cause the PKPlus installer to start over with installing the NFW.
I found a work-around, with other software. But, I would really like to use your software, if your can tell me how. My posts do a pretty good job of explaining my circumstances. Thanks for your reply.

It the first post you refer to PK2 Plus/Firmware v1.0.0.7/Product v1.0.0.8 what is the exactly download location? I dont think, but, I may be wrong, this is not from file tab in this Sforge.

I am trying to flash PIC MCUs. I thought that your program/PICKit2Plus replaced/upgraded the PICKit2 GUI/flash program. The little bit of programming that I do is C code. I write it in MPLabX and compile it with XC8. Then, I flash the hex with PICKit2.
I apologize if I have the wrong software and have you chasing a non-exident problem. Please direct me to the proper download.
Hmm... Might I have gotten it from GitHub. I don't recall.
Thank you for your help.

PICKit2Plus is an upgrade to flash program microcontrollers. See here for that www.pickitplus.co.uk This software supports newer chips.
We have many software products and in 2020 new hardware programmers.
PICKitPlus for a PK2 programmer
PICKitPlus for a PK3 programmer
A commandline utility for the PK3 and the PK2 programmer
PICKitPlus Autowatch. A software solution that enable easy integration with IDEs with a very simple and clean UI - you create the HEX and PICKitPlus Autowatch programmer the chip.
You can use the .DAT database with the old original PICkit Software as we have added many parts but the newer chips are not supported as the core protocols do not existing in the original PICkit Software.
We have maintained compatibility between the old original PICkit software and the PICkitPlus software to ensure that as we improve the quality we can share wit folks.
So, see www.pickitplus.co.uk forthe PICkitPlus software.

@t1. I am really sorry. For some reason I did not pick up the alert for this post.
What is the status of you problem?

ok. The only software here is the editor software not the programming software. As the programming software is not published here.
Are you trying to edit an existing microcontroller database using the the editor software ?
So, are you editing or trying to program?
