I reboot kernel 2.2.17 on redhat 6.2. When I install
PICE build 7, system freezed. I have to press reset or
power off.

I have this problem too, but only on my work. At home all is
working fine. The main difference is the amount of RAM: 256
MiB at work and 128 MiB at home. Could it be the reason?

The problem is related to the ringbuffer code. As soon as
I'm finished with the configuration code I will fix this, as
I already have plans to rewreite the ringbuffer code. There
is also a large amount of memory (2 or 4 MB) wasted with
that code which causes the hang, so this needs to be
rewritten anyway.
