About programming in asian language, I am able to
write programs using asian language, at least gcc
accepts this and PalmOS shows this correctly by using
some Chinese add-on platform.

There is a screenshot attached. The left one was
captured from 1.0.8, the asian characters shows with
no problem. The right one was captured from 1.1.0, all
asian characters can not show correctly. This may be
called 'rubbish characters'.
