#1 Unable to execute sample applications

I've been trying to run the sample code and continue to get run-time errors that seem to indicate Groovy compile errors - this occurs for every Groovy-based class that I'm able to identify, so I suspect it isn't coding errors as the error logs suggest, but something more fundamental.

I have all the jars you've indicated in the samples properly specified in the classpath, and don't know a thing about Groovy, so help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also wondering where things stand with this project, given no activity on the code base since February. Is it still active?
