I'd like to see a module that lets users pass messages to each other. I think this would be great if added or linked to Whosonline. Just click on a user name to send a message and they get it on the next page request. I saw something like this on a nuke run site. Being able to send general messages for all to see would be nice. I'd like to create a site with some of the feel and function of BBS' from my early online days.

I'd second that. A very simple instant message system that allows you to hit the name on Whosonline and send a message - which in turn as the option to reply. Pop-up window. Whatever. I have seen this used extremely effectively to build community on some very big sites. Another ideal feature would be for the content of such messages to be available in a log... whether short term or not... that can be accessed only by the individuals who were involved and the administrator - or, if necessary, only by the admin.

Haven't heard of anyone who specifically created this block/module, but some possibilities:
XMB forum (which I have working using Showinmain) has a "u2u" function which works very similarly using popup windows. If someone could figure out a bridge between XMB and pws it should be possible to use the whoisonline info to do this.
YaBB and phpBB both have a personal message function, allowing private messages between members. Again, both could be used via Showinmain, and a bridge would be required.
Could Forum v0.0.5 be upgraded to create a similar personal message board? shouldn't be too hard, and there is the major benefit that Forum is already linkable to pws.

I'd like to "third" this motion!! A number of my users have expressed an interest in this feature.
PHP-Nuke has this mod but I don't know how to get it to work with PHP WS..
If anyone can help with this let me know..
Thanks,
Tammy...
Did anyone ever do this or get this to work?
I have someone else who is trying to do the same thing.
