I know there are a million different chat scripts available... But it would be awfully nice to have a chat mod which would automatically log in users via pws.

Does anyone use a chat room at the moment? Which? How have you integrated it with phpWebSite?

Has anyone played with the routines which link into the big IMs such as Yahoo!, ICQ, AIM, & Messenger?

I know someone has been mucking with getting phpMyChat to work with phpWebSite. I've downloaded a couple of chat scripts to look at as well, along with chatbox/guestbook/shoutbox like modules from Nuke like systems.

And yeah, I keep promising the IRC chat thing from the ModForge site as well. Maybe I'll get around to that eventually. Part of my reasoning for holding back is that jIRC from jPilot is a commercial applet (costs $50). I was hoping to find a somewhat decent free and Open Source java applet, but so far none have compared to how nice jIRC is.

I won't be able to distribute the applet with the addon/module, which I know will confuse people. Ah well, if anyone has seen a decent IRC java applet that's free to distribute and open source, let me know.

Check this website out. He had a chat configured to do that and is using it on his site. I am using it also and it's great! He had it for download here.
