I have a question about installing the archives mod. It has the cb_common folder and the archive folder. Does the cb_common folder have to be in the mod directory? That's what the instructions look like. I installed according to directions. I had to add a blank index.php file to the cb_common folder for the module installer on the website to work. The program does not show up on the mod admin menu and it will not place the block and save the settings. Either the instructions need to be more clear and updated or I did something wrong.  Any help with this?

    Thank you,
    Marie Alline

      Marie,

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I had run into similiar problems recently and hadn't gotten to finding a decent fix. What's the contents of your index file?

I'll try to fix cb_common ASAP and real issue the Cannon BOSE modules here at SF.

Well, I actually got it to work. I uploaded all the files to the mod folder, then added an empty index.php to the cb_common file and installed from my phpWebsite modules setup page. It opened a page with the read me directions, etc and a bunch of other stuff and showed another install link so I clicked it and it installed for me. Is now working but was kind of confusing to install that way. Had to figure it out on my own. Probably just need to add an empty index.php file to the cb_common folder and update the read me file so is easier to install. Otherwise, it seems to be working really great on my website now. No problems so far. I really like the idea of being able to view archives by the month. Thanks for a great module!

I've got to ask now, when you say empty index.php file.

Are you talking "touch index.php" and that is it? Or are you saying "vi index.php" and enter "<?php ?>"

Next, which version of phpWebSite are you using?

Finally, archive is Ed's foster baby, I just prefer modules over add-ins.

          Thanks for the help,

          Michael

I just started a new file in my coding program and saved it as a index.php and uploaded it into the folder. It has no code at all on it, but it keeps the blank pages and errors from popping up. Actually, the information to do that came from phpgirl, as I was having problems with the module installer before, while trying to install a different mod. If every folder in the mod folder doesn't have an index.php it will keep you from being able to access the installer. It works.
I am running the 8.2 version of the website.

      Thanks,
      Marie Alline

cb_common has placeholder index.php file to allow phpWebSite's module installer to work a little smoother now.

        The updates are in cvs.
