Just installed the webalizer mod and it doesn't seem to be working for me. In the admin area there is a an area to put an url. Where should that url be pointing to? There are no instructions or documentation for installing the mod at all. Please help!
Thank you,
Marie Alline

There is no webalizer.conf file in the package I downloaded. There were 4 files. index.php, stats.gif, webalizer_install.php, and webalizer_uninstall.php. Should there be another file?
Thanks, Marie Alline

On the latest version, it has you set that directory after the mod is installed. I know I must be doing something wrong. Do I need to create any other directory and chmod it or what? There are no directions. This is the error I am getting.
An error occurred, please check your Directory Settings.
Does it matter where you set your html files at? Like can you make a folder for them inside or outside of your www directory and just point it toward that?
There is no documentation on the parts you need to edit if you have to edit the install file either.
Thanks,
Marie Alline

Now someone tells me! Says nothing about that and no instructions or documentation. I thought this was the program! Now I feel like, duh!
Where do I find the program at?
Thanks much,
Marie Alline

I got it! That helps alot. My web server already has it installed, all I needed to do was figure out how to put the path or url in correctly. Anyone else who runs across this problem, just be sure to put a trainling slash at the end. Duh! It's just one of those "duh things" that you know but can't think of at the moment. I knew it was something I was doing! Someone needs to make a readme file for that little sucker! It's not that hard to do and preferrably whoever developed the mod.
Thanks,
Marie Alline

I need to clarify with you....What files are you talking about? Are you talking about the webalizer files from this mod site? Or are you talking about the webalizer program itself?
Thanks,
Marie Alline

Does it have a readme file or install.txt file? You might want to read the support on that at the webalizer forums and in the docs if it has them.
They can help you best with installing that. Once you get that installed, the rest is simple.

Marie Alline

if your host wont instal it, you only have one choice where you can install.. and that is your home directory. and then its basically your choice where you stick it.

Did any of you get this mod working with 0.8.2 and table_prefix? The version here on sf does not include $table_prefix'ses. And I get some "this is not a valid mysql ressource".
Can anyone help or point me in the right direction?

Wow, i didn't think that it can be so difficult to setup this module, well it's just Install and set the Location, i was not thinking about that it has to be described what is webalizer. On my next release i will add a readme file, and also answer the question what webalizer is, and that this module is only to integrate it into the own phpwebsite.

Well, the mod file you uploaded on sf was faulty ;-), and I still do not get this to work properly, for I do not know where in your installation the webalizer files were located. Updating the phpws_mod_webalizer table does not work on my installation either (all other mods work fine...).

First, in the webalizer_install.php there was a $table_prefix missing; it installed the tables in the database, but did not insert a path/URL in the $location field.
Second, the content of $location has to end with an '/', i.e. /webalizer-output/.
Third, in index.php there should be something like $dir = $location.
_Then_ the webalizer index page comes up.
The only problem for me right now is that my webalizer writes an index.html with links relative to itself; it looks for the linked monthly html pages in the same directory it is itself in.

point it to the place where webalizer will be generating the html files (you set this location in your webalizer.conf file)

you need to have webalizer installed and working before you add the phpws mod. the .conf file comes with webalizer.

Hi all,
Unfortunatelly my host doesn't have webaliser installed, (has something else which I don't like).
and they are not planning to install it.
Can someone tell me ( I have downloaded the prog). in which directory should all the files go?
I upload my files with ftp. and when I connect I see.
logs (which is analog and I don't like it)
public_html
should I create a directory like this
public_html/webalizer (here the files)
or what should I do?
Thanks..

The webalizer program to start with...
I don't know from where to start...

I am getting closer to getting it work ;-)
First, in the webalizer_install.php there was a $table_prefix missing; it installed the tables in the database, but did not insert a path/URL in the $location field.

The only problem for me right now is that my webalizer writes an index.html with links relative to itself; it looks for the linked monthly html pages in the same directory it is itself in.
This means that every link is like http://my.phpws.de/link.html, and I cannot include paths like http://my.phpws.de/access/link.html.
Has someone an idea how to work around this?
