I've created some websites on my own OpenLinux server using phpMyAdmin and phpWebsite 0.8.3. Everything works fine, except that I cannot install any modules, be it Calendar or other third party ones such as Gallery, etc.

I login on the sites as Admininstrator, click to Install a module and nothing happens: the module is not installed and there is no error message (I'm just shown the site's homepage.)

I think that I've setup phpWebsite correctly. What is it that I am missing?

Are you sure you don't have any directories in /mod missing the index.php file?

Look for a recent discussion about this.

        Thanks MIchael.

Yes, they all have their index.php .

These are fresh installations where I've just created a database and done the basic phpWebsite install (edit config.php, chmod those four /images folders, etc). Could it be something with MySQL?

What's the error message when you click on Administrative Home -> Module Setup?

If your PHP version is below 4.2.3, that'll give a little bit of trouble.

Have you tried installing a Cannon BOSE module directly?

          Example:
          http://example.com/mod/listusers/listusers_setup.php

When I click on Administrative Home -> Module Setup and then, say, Calendar Install, there is no error message. I'm just taken to the site's homepage, and the module is not installed.

I don't know what PHP version I have. How can I tell?

(I couldn't look at your example; the URL is broken).

            Thank you.

Does the calendar icon show up in the module area of Administrative Home?

Read the example URL... when you see "example.com" that's the RFC URL for example's. In general when you see "example.com" you replace it with your domain name.

In regards to the Cannon BOSE modules, download this to your site and untar. I've got debug tools in there to help.
