Most cookbooks, and my elderly Aunts are used to seeing recipe amounts in whole and fractional numbers e.g. 1 3/4 cups or 3/4 tbsp. The really do not get 1.75 cups.
They have been entering quanties that way. First case becomes 1 cups and the second case becomes 3 tbsp. Obviously this is going to affect the recipe.
Either the quantity field needs to be a text field or the option given to make it a text field.
Personally I think it is a bug there are no edits to warn the user what will happen to their input if not put in exactly right!!
