http://wiki.crao.net/ has a really good and easy and I18N layout.
Easier to translate than MacOSX.

May we distribute your crao theme with PhpWiki?
Could you package it?

The png buttons will have to be renamed to english,
since they are not locale-specific, but everything else
seems to be okay.

About le buttons, I had to link most of them into the fr directory
(CraoWiki's locale is fr_FR) ... I think the locale stuff still has some
problems ...=20

Another showstopper appeared in testing:
WikiUserNew object upgrading is not PHP5 compatible.
You cannot assign $this inside the constructor anymore.

   Fatal error: Cannot re-assign $this in 
f:\prog\php\phpwiki-dev\phpwiki\lib\WikiUserNew.php on line 269
   Apache/1.3.26 (Win32) PHP/5.0.0b4

I have workarounds ready but this will need at least another day.

And there are some more mysterious problems, probably
pref related.

What is the current status of progress toward 1.3.8?  What are the show 
stoppers?  I'd like to release 1.3.8 before I bloat things up with the new 
config stuff.

* gettext: update_locale() fails on sf.net

but I would risk a release even with this problem, since we have it
for a long time now, and no solution so far. a workaround is to disable 
the gettext extension.

* a possible bug in WikiUserNew concerning not asking passwords
   (LDAP auth: john cole)
