After waiting (sorry, I know I should rather say "after helping" but no
time, right now!) several weeks I checked today again if the current
wiki is better in terms of user authentication. I was nicely
surprised. With my combination of parms (see at the bottom), it works
very good. I haven't done much testing just for the problems I observed
(and complained) several weeks ago.
Good job guys! Looks like I'll be finally able to upgrade from 1.3.4 to
the current release.
One RFE: in 1.3.4, when I'm in a sub page, I can click on the title (the
parent part of it) to get back directly to the parent page. Current
version doesn't let me do this. What should I do to have this feature back?

My user authentication parms:
ALLOW_ANON_USER = true, ALLOW_ANON_EDIT = false, ALLOW_BOGO_LOGIN =
true, ALLOW_USER_PASSWORDS = false (here it actually works the other way
around, I've found),
USER_AUTH_ORDER = "PersonalPage"
