Be aware that in PhpWiki 1.3.3 there are themes with hard coded date 
formats ($Theme->setDateFormat).

And "You'll have to experiment to find the correct setting" for LC_TIME.

Or don't care about LC_TIME and use (change) $Theme->setDateFormat in the 
theme.

I forgot to mention that there could arise more localization problems. For 
example I needed putenv("LC_ALL=de"); to get German strings, and the pages 
from locale/*/pgsrc were overwritten by default (English) pages of the 
same name when creating a new Wiki. Therefore I copied the German pages to 
the default pgsrc...
