A warning to all lovers of beautiful code. DO NOT LOOK IN
WikiDB.php in the cvs. I have begun to implement a version data
cache. It works at the moment (I think), and shaves about 7 or 8% off
execution times. But it is a very basic hack at the moment. Watch this
space ...
I was prompted in this direction by an examination of adodb degug
output, which revealed that the same SQL query was being executed
at least three times for each simple page load. The overhead on a
page such as RecentChanges was significant.
As ever, any comments/queries/reprimands (eg don't touch that again
...) welcome
