[Phpwiki-talk] filenames with underscores: bleah

Hi,

Bleah, those ugly underscores in filenames are my Pet-Peeve! Can we =
rename=20
them to spaces or SmashThemTogether instead?

Modern OSes shouldn't have any problems with spaces in filenames, and =
GUIs=20
and shell auto-completion really make it easy to use filenames with =
spaces=20
in them (except perhaps Windows, does it have filename auto-completion =
yet?
)

Whitespace in filenames make automated processing of directory
hierarchies and files unnecessarily difficult and careful.  Almost
no value add, significant value loss.

Yes.  This is my main complaint, too.  I also notice it confused the
SourceForge CVS checkin announcement mailer:

Carsten, if you want (or want me to) rename it to something else (without
spaces), that's fine.

PS: Just as a reminder: non US-ASCII in filenames also causes problems
with (at least) some CVS clients: best to avoid that as well.
