Would anyone (other than me) find it useful to have the current release
packaged as an RPM? If so, I'm willing to write the spec file and keep
it up to date.

Sure.
Look at the debian package, but please make /wiki the default, not
/wiki/index.php/
I'm aesthetically annoyed about the default usage in such a lot of
installations.
