Greetings all --
I admin a phpwiki 1.3.7 installation that I'm not in a position to upgrade easily. The spambots have defiled the place to the point that all pages have to be locked. I want to require a login to edit pages to prevent these dumb attacks. After a good bit of time spent on rtfm, I found a variable in config/config-dist.php to REQUIRE_SIGNIN_BEFORE_EDIT which I changed to true and uploaded the edited file. Anonymous users still can edit pages. Do I need to do anything else to make this setting active?
Reviewing the archive for this list, I found some references to the problem but no helpful responses -- only a reference to some 'debian' support forum. A more complete reply with a link to the correct information would make a nice addition to the archives and allow others with this question to follow up on their own.
Thanks for any (polite) suggestions anyone may be willing to offer.
