would it it be suitable/nice to pass Message-IDs to Google groups (as=20
a new link type)?
If so, it should be configurable - at the moment, Google accepts=20
requests like this:
http://groups.google.com/groups?selm=3D<Message-ID>
but who knows how long this service will be available...

isn't going away, but the features might change. Enter an API.
Google has a beta API function:
http://groups.google.com/apis/
It only searches the web index, however. It should be watched, since
eventually the wiki could include news messages via SOAP via google.
