I am trying to move the database from my ISP to my server. I got a dump from my old ISP and recreated the database on my local machine: [root@tooth phpwiki]# mysql -uXXXX -pXXXX phpwiki < yan.sql [root@tooth phpwiki]# No errors. But when I bring up phpwiki, it shows a completely new installation, not my old wiki.... So, any way to find out what exactly I have? What's in the database? And how do I get it out? I've followed the instructions in the UPGRADE doc but no joy.... I am using an older version of phpwiki on the original web site (1.3.0?) and the current version is the latest available from the web site (1.3.3?). Thanks for any advice..... -- o__ ,>/'_ o__ (_)\(_) ,>/'_ o__ Yan Seiner (_)\(_) ,>/'_ o__ o__ Certified Personal Trainer (_)\(_) ,>/'_ ,>/'_ Licensed Professional Engineer (_)\(_) (_)\(_) Who says engineers have to be pencil necked geeks? spam killer code kpwq1jkcsEzdx39gnkVvgycd15ayqq |

Yes, it must be 1.3.10. Now I never used 1.3.10 but I have heard that = there were many problems. If you want something quick, try getting the latest from CVS. Stan, I noticed that you are running PhpWiki 1.3.10 - I understand that there were a lot of problems with that version and more specifically, recently I have patched several bugs around security. The current version in CVS is in the final rounds of stabilisation before being release as 1.3.11, hopefully in the next two weeks. You might consider using that instead of 1.3.11. If not, I suggest that you hold off until after the release. Regards, Charles -----Original Message----- From: Stan Berka [mailto:sb...@po...] Sent: 22 February 2005 06:32 To: php...@li... I'd like to modify my wiki theme to add a small "E" link next to all my wiki links that will automatically jump to the "edit" page for that particular link. It woud look and function a lot like the "?" link next to new pages. However, I've had a hell of a time trying to figure out how to modify the theme to do that. If anyone has done it before or can point me to example code on how to do it, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -- Chris Metcalf ch...@ch... http://chrismetcalf.net |

(Reini is working on that, I think?) I'm working on it, but I would not rely on it. It's very experimental right now. The only requitred settings which prevent from config.ini saving is a missing ADMIN_USER + ADMIN_PASSWD. Proper DATABASE_* settings are not required in the current version. This is TBD. (to be done) Anyway, we have to fix it in the file backend, similar as to the dba backend. Joel already did that, thanks! The developers opinion in this was/is: Storing in /tmp should be no error, just a warning. The bug was that the warning is only in "dba" not in "file". > What I committed results in a warning being displayed in a red-bordered box > (for DBA, at least---I haven't been able to figure out why everything is > displayed as a notice for flat file---anyone know the answer?), which is how > it used to be, and how I thought it still was until just yesterday. It's a red warning by some javascript validators, but a lot of javascript validation is still missing from configurator.php, for example disable the submit button on any valifdation error. And the 2nd validation check after the submit POST is also missing. PS: My machine is working again almost fine. Reformatted C: I still have to chown all the old SID's to my new SID (my custom find getfacl - sed - setfacl script is working for 30 hrs right now) -- Reini Urban http://xarch.tu-graz.ac.at/home/rurban http://phpwiki.org |

Adopting that as a solution would leave people wondering why they can't get their wikis to load. > Of course, since I'm not willing to dive into the code to change it at > this point, my voice is not as authoritative. :) However, I still figure > it helps the project as a whole to apply pressure for the right solution. > > Dan My understanding from looking at the configurator code is that soon this will be a moot point, since the configurator will prompt for a database location. (Reini is working on that, I think?) What I committed results in a warning being displayed in a red-bordered box (for DBA, at least---I haven't been able to figure out why everything is displayed as a notice for flat file---anyone know the answer?), which is how it used to be, and how I thought it still was until just yesterday. |

For the sake of an "out-of-the-box" behaviour I do definitely prefer the warning solution proposed by Joel. When installing a server application permanently, reading the friendly manual is obligatory and common sense. > I agree with David Howland that the right thing to do is to > not even run > (or produce only a page showing a warning, but no edit buttons, etc.) > until the setting is proper. I agree with David Howland that the right thing to do is to not even run (or produce only a page showing a warning, but no edit buttons, etc.) until the setting is proper. I'd start the setting with a blank or with "./files" or something. Of course, since I'm not willing to dive into the code to change it at this point, my voice is not as authoritative. :) However, I still figure it helps the project as a whole to apply pressure for the right solution. I could not disagree more with the sentiment on the list. The user is absolutely right. Unless we take this painful experience and rage seriously, this project will remain user-unfriendly. When offered a choice between installing out of the box in a dangerous way, or forcing them to answer a question before running, choose the latter. Always. I saw it and I'm online again. The UpLoad patch is a good idea. But I want to change the upload dir to be user-specific also. Sooner or later. Upload:MyUserName/uploaded-file.txt => mkdir uploads/MyUserName mv $tmp uploads/MyUserName/uploaded-file.txt Maybe we should add a %u to be expanded to the current username in the interwiki map, similar to %s for the pagename. -- Reini Urban http://xarch.tu-graz.ac.at/home/rurban http://phpwiki.org |

(I decided to reinstall my whole C partition) Do you know about lib/HtmlParser.php?
