Hi, just two questions. Is there a way to search better in phpwiki? If we search for "RSC" we became: (german) "Überschriften" or "verschicken" or "Verschiedenes"..... what we need is: RSC; rsc, rsc-card, rsc-config and so on. This is to much and we cant use Titlesearch because RSC is a Remote Card in SunServers and this word are often in some sites. By the way. We must use the Full Text Search but the output is useless if you dont no what you search. I dont mean a case sensitive search. Is there a chance to search better? I cant found some infos in the docs. Second: Is it possible to upload 2 files withe the same name? If i download a file from wiki and change some things, i cant upload with the same name as the old one. Wiki means "Cant overwrite.....same name exists". Regards and sorry for my poor english |

Some of our features have been merged upstream (eg, utf8 support). Some of upstreams features have been back ported (eg bug fixes to NewMarkup). > Perry Lorier schrieb: > >> Hi! With our current version if you aren't logged in and you attempt to edit a page you get taken to a page that asks you for your username, you enter it, and then it continues with whichever action you needed to be logged in for. The version we were trying with would return with "You are not logged in". This I think was the major problem that prevented us migrating last time we tried (all the other problems we solved one way or another). The database upgrade wasn't smooth, although we attribute this to us using a "beta" CVS version. We ended up doing the database migration by hand -- it wasn't hard once we figured out what was going on. We're just about to try again and see how far we can get. We'll be sure to let everyone know of our progress. >> We're keen to work with some phpwiki developer(s) (which at the moment >> appears to be you) to add our features upstream, and fix the problems >> we were having upgrading. I didn't realise that any of the lists were still active. Subscribed. A (non comprehensive/slightly out of date) list of our changes can be seen at http://www.wlug.org.nz/WlugWikiConversion#hdr_modifications_we_have_made If anyone's keen on seeing how we did things a current tarball is available at http://www.wlug.org.nz/archive/phpwiki-20050621.tar.gz feel free to poach ideas (esp if you split them out to patches to commit upstream!) We hope to split out patches to merge upstream ourselves eventually. |

I seem to have hundreds, if not thousands, of users on line.... Unfortunately, this is not true; my site sees a very low volume. WhoIsOnline plugin reports: Our users created a total of 295 pages. First of all: You're not using flatfiles, you are using DATABASE_TYPE=dba with DATABASE_DBA_HANDLER=flatfile, which is totally untested and not recommended at all. DATABASE_TYPE=file would create a single file per page in page_data/ and ver_data/ > It had been running for a couple of months without any problems, but > sometime recently it started failing with the following error: > > Fatal Error: > lib/DbaDatabase.php:54: Error: > dba_open(/home/alanh/public_html/wiki/pages/pagedb.flatfile): failed > to open stream: Permission denied > file: /home/alanh/public_html/wiki/pages/pagedb.flatfile > mode: w > handler: flatfile So your db got locked somehow, and you have to unlock it. I'm running PHPwiki RC3 on Fedora Core 3 with php-4.3.11-2.5 and using flatfiles for my DB. It had been running for a couple of months without any problems, but sometime recently it started failing with the following error: Fatal Error: lib/DbaDatabase.php:54: Error: dba_open(/home/alanh/public_html/wiki/pages/pagedb.flatfile): failed to open stream: Permission denied file: /home/alanh/public_html/wiki/pages/pagedb.flatfile mode: w handler: flatfile lib/DbaDatabase.php:54: Error: dba_open(/home/alanh/public_html/wiki/pages/pagedb.flatfile): failed to open stream: Permission denied file: /home/alanh/public_html/wiki/pages/pagedb.flatfile mode: w handler: flatfile I know that I didn't change anything on the machine (I'm the only user). I am trying to get my PHP wiki to look something like my Wordpress blog, and I am having no luck.... Is there documentation somewhere for newbies on how the themes and stylesheets work in PHPwiki? I pretty much have the Wordpress themes worked out; I will have to do some mods to the theme to bypass all of the blog info and inject the wiki info, but I really want stylesheets to match... Thanks, --Yan |

Well, the zip contains some broken pgsrc files, but they are untranslated, so we don't them. This pgsrc dir can just be deleted from the zip. The templates are for 1.2.x Better would be a pl.po for 1.3.11, but this is almost 10 times larger an= d 10 times more work. |

Or is there a way to modify the way the wiki > parses the templates to allow me to use $_COOKIE? > > Sorry for the questions, I have looked everywhere and can't find > ANYTHING about this issue, but it must have come up before... You just experience basic php problems. phpwiki does not interfere with that. Look at your /include/common.php and guard the $_COOKIE['MemberName'] reference with if (isset($_COOKIE['MemberName'])) blabla... otherwise you'll get these warnings, aeh notice. |

Hi-ya Guys, I have just set up a wiki using phpwiki at http://www.bigblogzoo.com, and I went today to write a few wiki and somehow almost all formatting commands are being escaped. for example I went to the how How To Use Wiki page, made a trivial change, and now it comes out like this: \'\'\"Wiki wiki\"\'\' means \"quick\" in Hawai\'ian. Have I gone and messed something up? or is my database messing things up? Does anyone have any idea? thanks kent __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! According to the webhost-staff nothing changed, so I guess that is all the information that I will get. Is there some way to debug this present in the code or should I start with sprinkling debug statements? Hello. I have searched for this information, but I can't seem to find it anywhere, although I believe it to be possible. I want to modify template files with a 1.2.7 clean install. Essentially, I want to 'wrap' the wiki with elements form an existing webpage (common headers, footer, ads, etc). I have changed the template extension to .php and changed the reference to it in config.php. It loads the template as-is with the new extension perfectly. The problem is that the new php code I am now inserting into it is not getting executed. I have a require() at the top of the renamed template file, and then I run a few custom canned functions from this included file (adRotate(), displayUsers(), etc). None of these execute properly when run from within the .php template. Do I need to make any other changes to execute php code in the template? This should (I think) be very straightforward but I can't find any information about executing code on the WIKI itself or in this mailist archives. Thanks in advance, Paul |

Wow, that was fast :) Sadly no - I've submited a ticket to the webhosting company requesting information on this (thinking that *might* at least provide a starting point). Hi, We've been using phpwiki 1.3.10 for a while doing just fine. Suddenly, a few days ago, the wiki just stoped keeping track of login sessions. The session is stored in the mysql database table and the webbrowser sends the correct sessionstring (via the PHPSESSID cookie), but phpwiki seems to ignore it after the (successfull) login. I'm at a loss - any clues? -- // Peter Lundqvist Percusive Maintenance - The art of tuning or repairing equipment by hitting it. -- Unknown |

I am new as a webmaster, and am having a problem installing phpwiki.=20 Vizaweb is my host, and uses cpanel and fantastico to install apps. I have installed phpwki several times using different admin names and passwords, and each time cannot enter the admin area. I even tried admin for name and password, but that was unsuccessful also. Not sure if this is a bug or not. Thanks Pete Shambo=20 kar...@gm... |
