With the help of Jeff Dairiki, phpWiki now speaks french. There will be also a set of default pages in pgsrc/ soon. Maybe for the next phpWiki release ? In the meantime, files are available there : http://www.koota.net/projects/phpwiki/ Thanks for this great tool. Pascal |

not sure if this is interesting or not but jeff and i were talking about incorporating rss boxes on the side of the wiki a while ago and this looks like it might be a useful starting point (or not :-). i appears to be a non-database driven php layout engine which does the basic weblog style stuff. http://www.pccs-linux.com/nukelayout/ adam. |

Ari maintains the nbstc wiki, and there is a tarball available at: http://phpwiki.sf.net/phpwiki/nbtsc.phpwiki.tar.gz Ari has been using PhpWiki almost from the start. That Wiki is a modified 1.03 version; almost no code remains from 1.03 in the current code base. Ari's been on the team for some time now :-) cheers ~swain On Fri, 21 Sep 2001, Seth Cohn wrote: > Please forward to whomever is running the NBTSwiki: > > We're discussing your cool Wiki modifications on the PHPWiki list, > and I for one would love to see the code changes you've made, since there > are clearly some _really_ cool things you've added... > (If you aren't on the PHPWiki list, check the archives to get up to speed > and subscribe) http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=6121 > > What version did you start with, and could you either send me a copy of your > current code so I can diff it, or (even better) do you have the patches > yourself? I've also made my own, based on HTML::Parse and HTML::Formatter also, using the HTML::FormatterPhpwiki namespace. But I don't think that mine is good enough because I didn't use it that much so far. oops, and I cannot find this module anymore. > One question: what do I do with the files once I have converted them? > Is there an easy way to add pages to a wiki from the command line (under > UNIX), rather than through the web? two options: * plain text wiki files in the pgsrc dir can be used to initialise the database (if frontpage is undefined in the db) this is what I did. * convert them to the pseudo mail format the dumps are using. you just have to process the body through MIME::QuotedPrint, like cat $body | perl -MMIME::QuotedPrint -0777 -ne 'print encode_qp($_)' > $newbody you can also zip them then. please post your script to the list. -- Reini Urban http://xarch.tu-graz.ac.at/home/rurban/ |

I have a whole bunch of web pages that I would like to turn into a wiki. I would like to keep as much of the existing formatting as I can, but it is far too much work to do this by hand. Has anyone written an HTML-to-Wiki converter? I have started writing one of my own in Perl using the HTML::Parser module. I have put together a quick-and-dirty version which I am slowly refining. I'd be glad to share it around if nothing better already exists. One question: what do I do with the files once I have converted them? Is there an easy way to add pages to a wiki from the command line (under UNIX), rather than through the web? Please forward to whomever is running the NBTSwiki: We're discussing your cool Wiki modifications on the PHPWiki list, and I for one would love to see the code changes you've made, since there are clearly some _really_ cool things you've added... (If you aren't on the PHPWiki list, check the archives to get up to speed and subscribe) http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=6121 What version did you start with, and could you either send me a copy of your current code so I can diff it, or (even better) do you have the patches yourself? I'd love to see some of these mods make it back into the current mix... I can see a few I'd like to have on my own wiki(s). I think this is the true beauty of 'open source' code sharing: Your wiki came from the same 'roots' but ended up different enough that we couldn't even tell at first it _was_ related. It's like discovering a neighboring Galapagos Island with new breeds on it, and learning about evolution. Hi guys, In a fit of pique I added some new functionality which is implemented just like %%Mostpopular%%. The code will probably not be of too much use to you, since I only implemented it as MySQL, you'll probably want to implement it using the new plugin architecture, and Jeff just rearranged the database architecture anyway. Nevertheless, you might find the query useful in case you add it, but since it is late and I am feeling cheeky I have decided to present it as a puzzle. The first one to guess it doesn't win a prize ;-) select topage from $WikiLinksStore left join $WikiPageStore on topage=pagename where frompage!='$RecentChanges' and frompage!='$TextFormattingRules' and pagename is NULL group by topage order by topage (`echo QnatyvatYvaxf | tr A-Za-z N-ZA-Mn-za-m' for the answer, and you can find the full patch in http://inauspicious.org/files/phpwiki/) No cheating ;-) Later, Gary [ ga...@in... ][ GnuPG 85A8F78B ][ http://inauspicious.org/ ] |

For an interesting take on this, look at: http://www.nbtsc.org/wiki/NBTSWikiWiki Simply put, it's a wiki that has a comment attachment section at the bottom of each page. So either you can edit the page AND/OR put a static comment at the bottom. I'm not sure I like this or not, but it's interesting. I looked at Twiki, what with the new plugin API and all, and it's got some features I think are neat. I think if possible, Standardizing a plugin api would be a good thing. Jeff? Have you looked at Twiki's plugins? If so, what is good and bad about them? Someone should do a feature list of the various wiki clones and make a Wikipage for it. Or is there one? |

Aren't you supposed to "select your relationship" to the project? For example, you'd be a "Lead Developer" or a "Developer", depending on how you felt about it. Oh, and PS: I uploaded the two patches but one of them (the efficiency one) hasn't uploaded properly. Could you take a look at it and see what went wrong?
